The Special Events Taskforce created following the Truck Meet in June will have a meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the Ocean Center. The meeting will bring together city and county leaders and elected officials to discuss managing unsanctioned events and how they work together with mutual aid during sanctioned events.
Invited attendees include mayors, managers and police chiefs from cities on the county’s east side, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, the Volusia County Chair and Volusia County Beach Safety as well as leaders from the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Lodging and Hospitality Association of Volusia County. The public is welcome to attend the meeting. The meeting will air online at www.codb.us. The Ocean Center is at 101 N. Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach.
