[ARCHIVED] Hazardous Waste Amnesty Day, 11/2

Image of commonly used household chemicals

Time to clean you your garage…

On Saturday, November 2, there will be a one-day Hazardous Waste Amnesty Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the city’s Public Works facility, 950 Bellevue Avenue in Daytona Beach.

This is your chance to safely dispose of common, yet potentially hazardous, household items including:

  • paint and paint thinners
  • solvents, pesticides
  • fertilizers
  • household chemicals
  • batteries
  • light bulbs
  • pool chemicals
  • anti-freeze
  • propane tanks

Because of their potential to contaminate the environment or water supply, these types of materials should never be included with your regular household garbage.

Materials not accepted include fuel, gas cans, used motor oil and tires.

Citizens must show proof of Daytona Beach residency and there is no cost to drop off items.

If you have any questions about the drop-off program, please call 671-8670.
