Gear the kids up! Registration is happening for summer camps!
The city’s popular summer camp program will begin Monday, June 7, and continue through Friday, Aug. 6, with safety protocols in place due to the pandemic. The nine-week program is for children ages 5 to 16 years old and will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed Monday, July 5). Breakfast and lunch, sports, crafts and games are provided at the summer camps.
Due to the pandemic, camp participation will be reduced to 50 percent occupancy, and there are no field trips planned for participants.
There are four sites in Daytona Beach for the summer camps:
- Midtown Community Center, 925 George W. Engram Blvd.
- Schnebly Recreation Center, 1101 N. Atlantic Ave.
- Sunnyland Park, 825 Washington St.
- YSG Community Center, 1000 Vine St.
Registration for the summer camps is open to current after-school participants through Friday, April 30, at the city’s Leisure Services office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Registration for the general public will begin Monday, May 3. Learn more about the summer camps, including details on camps to the offered by the county, online.
