Free Moderna COVID-19 vaccines available Tuesday at YSG Community Center

The city is partnering with Family Health Source to offer free Moderna COVID-19 vaccines from 1:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at the Yvonne Scarlett-Golden Cultural and Educational Center, 1000 Vine St.

No appointment is needed and anyone over the age of 18 is welcome. Photo ID is required; however, you do not have to be a city resident to receive the vaccine.

Enjoy Wine & Cheese Walk in Downtown Daytona Beach Saturday

Head over to downtown Beach Street this Saturday for the annual Wine & Cheese Walk. Stroll along Beach Street from 1 to 5 p.m. and enjoy live music while sampling red and white wines and delicious cheese items served by participating merchants.

The Wine & Cheese Walk will have two check-in points (one on North Beach Street and one on South Beach Street) where attendees will receive their Wine & Cheese Walk Passport, wine glass and beverage tickets. Plenty of free parking is available behind the shops.

Advance tickets are available at www.Wine-Cheese-Walk.Eventbrite.com. Tickets will also be available the day of the event ($25 per person) at the registration check-in points until the event is sold out.

Public invited to Code Enforcement meeting Tuesday

Residents are invited to learn about citywide code enforcement issues at a Code Enforcement public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at Our Lady of Lourdes at 1014 N. Halifax Ave.

Bring your questions and spend time learning about the city’s code enforcement process and the most recent violations cited throughout the city. Since the beginning of the year, staff has issued nearly 900 violations with 18% of those cases being resolved.

Hands together, Chamber launches Daytona Business United Program

New Chamber program aims to help minority-owned businesses

The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce has launched a new Daytona Business United program, a component of their Equity, Diversity and Inclusion initiative. A goal of the Daytona Business United Program is to lift up minority-owned businesses and provide them with mentorship, membership, education and a supportive network.
