Father's Day Scavenger Hunt at Downtown Farmers' Market

The Daytona Beach Downtown Farmers’ Market will host its first-ever scavenger hunt in honor of Father’s Day weekend beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 19.

Ten gems will be hidden throughout the market for guests to find. Each gem is redeemable for a $5 voucher to spend at the Farmers’ Market. Scavenger hunt clues will be available at the information tent.

The Downtown Farmers’ Market is from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at Market@Magnolia, located at 100 Magnolia Avenue between Beach Street and Palmetto Avenue. Free parking is available behind the Riverfront Shops. 

After visiting the Farmers' Market, participants are encouraged to explore the locally owned shops and restaurants in Daytona Beach’s downtown.

Police Department to host food distribution event, June 25

The Daytona Beach Police Department is teaming up with the Daytona Dream Center to host a free community food distribution event at police headquarters, 129 Valor Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 25.

For safety reasons, a one-way, drive-thru system will be implemented. Participants should remain in their vehicles and food will be placed in trunks.

COVID-19 vaccines will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at the Hope Place Public Library, 1310 Wright St. No appointment is needed at the walk-up, outdoor clinic where the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be provided. The Health Department continues to offer COVID-19 vaccines weekly at their two Daytona Beach locations:

  • 421 Keech St.
    Monday & Wednesday
    8 to 11:30 a.m. & 1 to 4:30 p.m.

  • 1845 Holsonback Drive
    Tuesday: 8 to 11:30 a.m. & 1 to 4:30 p.m.
    Thursday: 8 to 11:30 a.m. & 1 to 6 p.m.

Summer meals available for children

Program offers nutritionally-balanced meals to children during summer break

There are more than a dozen distribution sites in Daytona Beach for a Summer Food Service Program for children ages 18 and under.

The program, sponsored by Volusia County’s Human Services Office, offers free breakfast and lunch meals, Monday through Friday, through Aug. 13. Children must be present to receive meals.
