Instructor Bio
Lisa Flowers-Thompson
Lisa Flowers-Thompson began line dancing in 2021 after receiving a request from the Health Ministry at Tubman-King Community Church to create a fun fitness program. What started as a fitness initiative quickly evolved into a transformative experience that brought not only fitness and weight loss but also joy, laughter, and a sense of community. Participants shared inspiring testimonies of weight loss and relief from depression, leading to the birth of Line Dancing by Lisa.
Line Dancing by Lisa is more than just a dance program—it's a movement that gives back to the community. The program actively participates in fundraising and donates to various nonprofit organizations, including the Hope Shelter, cancer research organizations, foster care initiatives, and efforts supporting homeless individuals, domestic violence survivors, and the She’s Covered Corporation.
In addition to leading the Line Dancing by Lisa community, Lisa herself has experienced the personal fitness benefits of the activity. As a participant, you’ll not only learn exciting dances but also be welcomed into a supportive, tight-knit community.
