Jan. 21, 2026In today’s City Manager’s Update newsletter, the following topics are highlighted: From Someday to SOLD: Helping residents become homeowners In 2025, 19 individuals and families became first-time homeowners through the city’s Down Payment Assistance Program, funded through SHIP dollars and supported by partner agencies. Find out more about this program for eligible low-income residents, who may receive up to $50,000 for down payment and closing cost assistance. Updates to programming at Daisy Stocking Park Starting this Sunday, Jan. 25, the park will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every Sunday. Public meeting about Mobile Food Vendor ordinance changes The public is invited to attend a community meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, in Room 149 at City Hall to discuss proposed amendments to the city’s Code of Ordinances regarding mobile food vendors. Cybersecurity Heroes recognized 53 employees were recognized for cybersecurity excellence, including phishing reporting and training completion. The city’s phish-prone percentage was 3.1%, outperforming the 4.4% industry benchmark. In the works: key projects and updates - Beville Road lighting upgrades are complete between Williamson and Clyde Morris boulevards, with 134 new LED light poles improving nighttime visibility and safety for motorists and pedestrians (FDOT-funded).
- Sickler Park restoration is nearing completion, including repairs to the seawall seat wall, new grading/sod, erosion protection and safety improvements.
- Boardwalk beach access stairs and ramp repairs remain in progress, with completion anticipated in the spring. Construction is moving southward from the Bandshell, with ramps and stairs to improve access.
DB150 – Celebrating Daytona Beach’s legacy This week’s feature highlights Daytona Beach’s early land speed record history, including record-setting runs on our hard-packed sand beach. The citywide #DB150 pole banner campaign continues across main corridors, and upcoming digital features will spotlight local businesses and historic photography.
