Vision Plan

Process

Creating a blueprint for Daytona Beach's future was a process that began in 2006 as an initiative by the City Commission. The process included more than 1,800 citizens, residents, business owners and students who volunteered their time to discuss the needs, wants and dreams of our entire community.

Acceptance

The Daytona Beach Vision Plan (PDF), in its final form, was submitted to the City Commission on March 19, 2008. The commission voted to accept the plan for use as a tool for the city's future. At this meeting, the commission also approved a proposal by the original Steering Committee to continue their work by forming a standing committee, called the Vision Implementation Committee, to oversee the implementation of ideas presented in the vision plan.

Implementation

The Vision Implementation Committee views the vision as a living document and will continue to maintain and update the vision into the future.
